Welcome Home Assisted Living, A Place for Mom

Move In Process

Fully Furnished Rooms!

This is a place for mom or dad! You don’t have to move furniture in or out (but if you want to supply some or all of your own furniture you may – such as Dad’s special bed or recliner)

Begin packing well in advance of the actual move.

Decide on how much clothing you will need and how much your new closets will hold, and plan accordingly.

Have a look at the available closet and storage space to avoid bringing more than you will be able to store.

Keep all medications close at hand in an easy-to-access location.

Contact the facility for a list of suggested items to bring with you.

If the facility is assisting with laundry services, label your clothing to avoid confusion.

Schedule a meeting with the administrator or director and the staff before moving day.

Review your contract before you move in so as to address any doubts and ask any questions you may have in advance.

Attend a few activities, depending on schedule, just to meet other residents.

If your parents or an elderly relative/friend has decided to move into Welcome Home Assisted Living in Davis County Bountiful Utah, then it is best to communicate with them so they can have as positive an experience as possible on moving day. Moving can be a very emotional time, and effective communication and an understanding attitude are very important during this transition. Offering continual comfort can help reduce stress.

There are some special ways to take care of your loved one on moving day. After choosing Welcome Home Assisted Living, future residents should start planning for the move. Thoughtfully prioritize which personal items such as furniture, keepsakes, photographs, and other important possessions should be taken along, as these personal items may give some comfort to your loved one. Moving to a care facility can be a huge change for the whole family, so allow some time for everyone to adjust and relax. It is always advised to make sure that the caregivers in the new setting know your loved one’s history and personal preferences regarding things such as music, food, favorite smells, and best times of day.

Family and friends should visit often to make the initial phase of the move easier. This provides emotional reassurance and comfort to the person while he or she acclimates to the new environment. In fact, regular visits allow families to see the care being given to their loved one and to develop a good relationship with the caretakers at the Bountiful assisted living home.

We've been there. We understand.

Everything we do is driven by our universal mission: to enhance the lives of aging adults and their families.

Testimonials

My mom is at Welcome Home, and we are very happy. They have been wonderful. Everything from the staff, service, to the food is great. It’s also a comfortable place.
My mother has used Welcome Home. That has been my favorite place of all. It is a small 2-building facility. I love the staff -- especially the administrator -- and they have a chef that cooks the meal. My mother loves the food. She raves about it. Even in her memory loss stage, she doesn’t hesitate to go there. I have used them for respite a few times in the past, and that’s my favorite place. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have skilled nursing, so I can’t take my mother for hospice. I always see them doing crafts and puzzles, and they have people come in and singing with them. I have been impressed with their activities and just with the whole facility.
